W+W Aufzugkomponenten, based in Düsseldorf, has been operating as an independent company since January 1, 2003, spun off from the elevator factory WINDSCHEID & WENDEL, founded in 1855.
Since 1990, employees in the components department have been involved in the development and distribution of standard elevator products. The first digital shaft copying system was presented in 1992, followed in 1996 by the "FixLicht" system, the first pluggable shaft lighting system with fluorescent lamps. The product line of "control buttons, indicator lights, and manual control boxes for elevators" was introduced in 2001.
At the end of 2002, W+W began developing retrofit products for EN81-80. Within a short time, a number of new series products were created. In recent years, the product range has been significantly expanded with a large number of newly developed products and merchandise. The telescopic car skirts with patented triangular release mechanism have become a classic.
Services
Energy-efficient elevator lighting has been a focus for several years, and after a lengthy development period, W+W has been able to present its customers with high-quality LED lighting from the CabinLED and SQUARE-LED product lines. Most recently, energy-saving LED tubes have also become available for retrofitting conventional fluorescent tubes; these can be used as machine room lighting as well as for light strips in elevator cabins.
Newer products also include the telescopic buffer supports developed by W+W, which are suitable for new construction and retrofitting. Likewise, the foldable maintenance support for creating a temporary shelter in the shaft pit and shaft head.
Since 2014, W+W has expanded and further developed its range of pre-assembled cables and components according to the CANopen standard. Special customer requests regarding cable assembly are gladly accommodated upon inquiry.
