W+W Elevator Components, based in Düsseldorf, has been an independent company since January 1, 2003, spun off from the elevator factory WINDSCHEID & WENDEL, established in 1855, as an independent company.
Since 1990, employees in the components department have been developing and selling elevator series products. The first digital shaft scanning system was presented in 1992, and the "FixLicht" system, the first plug-in shaft lighting with fluorescent lamps, was introduced in 1996. The product line "Control Buttons, Indicator Lights, and Hand Control Boxes for Elevators" was introduced in 2001.
At the end of 2002, W+W began developing retrofit products for EN81-80. Within a short period of time, a number of new series products were created. In recent years, the product range has been significantly expanded with a variety of newly developed products and merchandise. A classic product is now the telescopic car skirts with patented triangular release.
Services
The topic of energy-efficient elevator lighting has been a focus for several years, and after a long development period, W+W has been able to present its customers with high-quality LED lighting from the CabinLED and SQUARE-LED product lines. Energy-saving LED tubes for retrofitting conventional fluorescent tubes are now also available. These can also be used as machine room lighting and as light strips in elevator cabins.
Newer products include the telescopic buffer supports developed by W+W, which are suitable for new construction and retrofitting. Also available is the foldable maintenance support for creating a temporary shelter in the shaft pit and headroom.
Since 2014, W+W has also expanded and further developed its range of pre-assembled cables and components according to the CanOpen standard. Special customer requests regarding assembly are gladly accommodated upon request.
