VFA Toolbox for the Data Act – Support for implementation from September

The European Data Act will enter into force on September 12, 2025. The regulation aims to create a uniform legal framework for accessing and sharing data within the EU. For companies in the elevator industry – particularly installers, service providers, and component manufacturers – this will result in new requirements regarding data provision, user access, and contractual agreements.

The toolbox includes:
• an introduction outlining the key obligations under the Data Act,
• an implementation plan with an Excel tracker,
• a template for data mapping including legal explanations,
• a sample form for transparency notifications to users,
• a data usage agreement based on the current EU draft,
• as well as a self-assessment questionnaire for data categorization.

The toolbox will be presented for the first time at the digitization workshop in early July.
