VFA Toolbox for the Data Act – Support for implementation from September

The European Data Act will enter into force on September 12, 2025. The regulation aims to create a uniform legal framework for access to and sharing of data in the EU. For companies in the elevator industry—particularly system installers, service providers, and component manufacturers—this will result in new requirements regarding data provision, user access, and contractual arrangements.

In order to support our members in the legally compliant and practical implementation of these requirements
To support the implementation of the Data Act, the VFA, together with the law firm Fieldfisher, has developed a toolbox for the Data Act
It contains a series of structured tools and templates that are tailored to the
tailored to industry-specific challenges.

The toolbox includes:
• an introduction to the key obligations under the Data Act,
• an implementation plan with Excel tracker,
• a template for data mapping including legal explanations,
• a model form for transparency notifications to users,
• a data usage agreement based on the current EU draft,
• and a self-assessment questionnaire for data categorization.

The toolbox will be presented for the first time at the digitalization workshop in early July.
It can be obtained from VFA member companies upon request.
