ELA presentations on the key changes to (EN) ISO 8100-1/-2:2026
As part of a project by the European Lift Association (ELA), the presentations systematically outlined the key changes to (EN) ISO 8100-1/-2:2026 compared to EN 81-20/-50:2020.
The documents explain the revised structure of the standards and provide a thematically organized overview of new, revised, and removed requirements. Among other things, they cover changes to shafts and shaft accesses, doors, machinery and brakes, electrical safety devices, SIL-rated circuits, suspension devices, inspection and emergency operating functions, as well as testing and verification procedures.
The presentations are intended to facilitate the introduction of (EN) ISO 8100-1/-2 for experts, companies, and other interested parties, and to help them understand the changes relevant to practical application. They do not replace the complete standard texts, but serve as a structured overview and guide.
The German versions are now available for download.
