On August 1, 1968, ORANG-Aufzüge, Düsseldorf, was acquired by Lothar Rüger, the father of the current owner, thus laying the foundation for the company's now 40-year history.
The initial product range primarily included garbage can elevators, which for a long time were manufactured and assembled entirely in-house, including the drive system. The installed elevators from the ORANG 02, ORANG 03, and ORANG Elektrik model series were widely used.
Of course, the complete maintenance of conventional elevator systems, such as passenger, freight, and small goods elevators, has always been part of the daily business.
In 1976, the company moved from the now-demolished workshop at Willhelm-Tell-Str. 24 in Düsseldorf-Bilk to new, larger premises on Birkenstr. 10 in Düsseldorf-Flingern. 118.
In 1995, the company W. Wiedenfeld & Co., Düsseldorf, was acquired, thus expanding into the construction and maintenance of beer barrel lifts. Following the death of his father, Jürgen Rüger has been the owner of Rüger Aufzugbau since 1997 and is leading the business into the next generation. In 2004, the company moved to its current premises on Regenbergastraße in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim.
